Twitter Launches Blue For Business With Square Profile Photos

Twitter is introducing Blue For Service, a new version of Blue Verified designed to distinguish brand name accounts from personal accounts.

In addition to a gold checkmark, Blue For Business includes a square profile picture and the ability to connect any associated Twitter accounts.

When service accounts designate their associated accounts, such as personal Twitter accounts of staff members, the affiliate gets an additional badge beside their confirmed checkmark.

The image at the top of this page shows an example of a Twitter employee’s account, which has a blue checkmark and a badge with Twitter’s logo design.

In a post, Twitter provides different examples of how brands can utilize Blue For Company:

“By creating this connection, we’re making it possible for organizations to create networks within their own companies– on Twitter. Services can affiliate their leadership, brand names, support handles, staff members or groups. Reporters, sports group players or motion picture characters can all be affiliated. You call it, we got it. Each affiliate will be confirmed and officially linked to their moms and dad deal with based on a list supplied by the moms and dad service. We will share any new requirements, rates or procedure as we upgrade them.”

No matter how Twitter tries to spin it, there’s little doubt that Blue For Company is designed to offer more subscriptions.

If your brand and its affiliates are at threat of impersonation on Twitter, having everyone verified and linked under the same moms and dad account might be rewarding.

However, without more information, it isn’t simple to quantify this service’s value to organizations.

To that end, we do not know just how much it will cost organizations, as signups aren’t open yet.

Twitter is piloting Blue For Companies with choose accounts and will make the service broadly readily available next year.
